Artificial Intelligence for Agriculture
AGX AI is a collaborative initiative led by DevGlobal and Dev-Afrique to accelerate the responsible design, development, and delivery of generative AI tools and services for small-scale producers (SSPs) in Africa and Asia. Funded by the Gates Foundation, the project builds a vibrant, aligned community to ensure that AI serves the people who grow the world’s food.
As AI evolves rapidly, the global agriculture sector must work together to ensure smallholder farmers aren’t left behind. AGX AI brings together diverse actors – researchers, funders, implementers, technologists, policymakers, and producers – around a shared goal: shaping inclusive and equitable AI solutions that work for SSPs in low- and middle-income countries.
